BPS Approved DBT Full Practitioner Training

is for qualified mental health or social work professionals. It is a nine day online course with 7.5 hours supervision, casebook submission, case presentations by participants and a DBT exam. It leads to a DBT Practitioner Certificate from GreenWood Mentors Ltd., an established and reputable DBT training provider. This training is approved by the British Psychological Society. GreenWood has delivered training in DBT since 2006 nationally and internationally, including in Poland, India, Lebanon, Hong Kong, Macau and Australia.

The training will be delivered online to an exclusive group of up to fifteen participants. We aim to replicate as far as possible the feeling of being in a room together, so that we can get to know each other and become a supportive and productive, validating group. The small number allows this, and also an ongoing meaningful level of support, allowing you to receive personal feedback and attention to your own work context.

The trainers for April to November 2025 will be Fiona Kennedy and Catherine Parker. Fiona has delivered DBT training since 2006, throughout the UK and internationally. She is known for her knack of making complex concepts accessible and for having fun. She has won awards from BUPA and a recommendation from the National Audit Office for her DBT training and service. Catherine is a leader of our private DBT service, previous leader of an NHS DBT service, with extensive experience of providing DBT and delivering training.

Dr Fiona Kennedy

has delivered DBT training since 2006, throughout the UK and internationally. Formerly Team Leader for the Isle of Wight NHS DBT Team, she is known for her knack of making complex concepts accessible and for having fun. She has won awards from BUPA and a recommendation from the National Audit Office for her DBT training and service.

Dr Gill Green

has delivered DBT training since 2021 and has high-level expertise in both clinical and organisational psychology. She is the leader of GreenWood’s private DBT Service. She makes training fun and is very attuned to the needs of trainees.

Catherine Parker

Former Team Leader of Derbyshire NHS DBT Team, Catherine now helps to lead GreenWood’s private DBT Service. She has trained folks in DBT for many years and presented workshops at BABCP conferences. She is very empathetic, clear and organised in her presentations.
